Kwazulu-Natal Covering a massive 620,000 acres, the greater St. Lucia Wetland Park lies in the south of Maputaland, a vast coastal plain. The Park, the third largest in South Africa, comprises a patchwork of conservation areas proclaimed over the last century. Angling, snorkeling and diving are major attractions of the area. Game is abundant in the region and includes an enormous variety of birdlife. Some of the private concession areas have re-introduced the Big Five. During summer, large numbers of leatherback turtles use the beaches as a breeding ground.
Rocktail Bay Lodge is situated in the northern reaches of the Greater St Lucia Wetland Park in northern KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. This whole area has been declared a World Heritage Site.
