Phinda Reserve This 42,000 acre sanctuary in Maputaland lies between Mkuzi Game Reserve and the greater St. Lucia Wetland Park. It lies in an area which represents the junction of bird species migrating north and other tropical species, migrating south. In addition to accommodating lion, elephant, giraffe, rhino and hippo, Phinda is a natural sanctuary for a large variety of mammals, reptiles and birds (430 species).
